Cyprus Airports

There are two International Airports that handle Air Traffic to the Island.

These are situated at:

Larnaca: Which is situated some 50km from Nicosia The capital Generally speaking those intending to stay on the Eastern end of the Island or visiting the Capital Nicosia should use this airport

Paphos. Those looking to stay on the Western end of the Island are lucky in as much as they can be served by an airport which is just 10km outside of Paphos.

Note: These are the only recognized points of entry into the republic of Cyprus. Any passenger using airports on the Northern side of the island will be denied entry.

Departures and arrivals of flights to and from Cyprus take place at all hours of the day and night, particularly during the summer period. This should be borne in mind when booking flights etc. It is therefore advisable to check with your travel agent where they have booked you to fly in to.

Both of these facilities are earmarked to be replaced, in the next 4 years, by new airport facilities designed to better handle the increasing amount of tourist traffic that descends on the Island annually.
